RMCC Family Gives Thanks to Jesus

We’ve asked some members of our RMCC family to share with us the things they’re thankful for. May this small glimpse of the Lord’s faithfulness encourage you today.

Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever (1 Chronicles 16:34).”

Joy Peterson … It’s easy to be thankful for good things, but what about the tough stuff? We have faced difficult challenges — one after another — since the beginning of 2021. But God has been so unmistakably present, holding us up and letting us ‘see’ Him as He orchestrates one day at a time. Job said, “Should we accept from God only good and not adversity (Job 2:10)?” Lord, thank You for who You are and for the comfort of Your loving presence in all of life’s circumstances.

Faith Chisholm … Being thankful is something I often forget to do. It is good to remember all the things God has given us. I am thankful for a God that has stayed sovereign no matter how deeply I mess up. I am thankful for my family, the support and love that radiates from my parents towards me. I am so beyond thankful for the job that I have as well as the roof over my head. No matter the cliche, I am still thankful for these things. I thank the Lord for how blessed and provided for I am.

Lori Block … Since I lost my precious Stan unexpectedly almost four years ago, I have been forced to learn so many new things. Practical ones, things about myself, and deeper things about my Lord Jesus. He has been so faithful to me. He is always with me, and we commune constantly. He is my comfort, peace, joy, hope, strength, Saviour, Father, husband, and friend. I can rest in the fact that He is not leaving …… ever. His presence is sure and will abide with and keep me until I see Him face to face and meet up with my loved ones again.

Gabe Befus … I am thankful for camp because I made so many new friends. The worship and teaching was incredible! At camp, I had a counsellor who asked how he could be praying for me. I shared with him some tough things I have been experiencing and he began to pray with me. I was emotional and he encouraged me. I shared with my friend who was there with me, and he supported me as well. I’m so grateful for the family of God and that we can share with one another and have grace, support, and accountability to grow in our faith.

Donna & Frank Irving … There are so many things we are thankful for when we think of our relationship with Jesus. Frank and I received Jesus into our lives 28 years ago and since then, we have had many trials in our family. The Lord has remained faithful and has given us wisdom and guidance in our walk with Him. He has restored our marriage, healed our family of depression, anxiety, addictions, including the deep hurt and pain. The journey has not been easy, but Jesus has remained faithful showing His love and grace over the years.

Meredith Papps … Lately, I’ve been especially thankful for the Lord’s faithfulness to guide and direct my decisions. The lyrics “I will look back and see that you are faithful” couldn’t be more true. Looking ahead, the path forward can seem hidden and filled with fog. But every time I pause and look back at the journey, I see the Lord’s fingerprints and His faithfulness to always guide me in the next right step. These small glimpses into His unfolding plans for me are faith-builders that help me continue to trust my future into His hands.

Doug Karau … I am thankful for:

  • the privilege God has granted me in life to be a recipient of His grace;
  • the honour of being a child of God through Jesus Christ;
  • the freedom I have to worship God according to His Word;
  • a family that loves, believes in, and serves God according to His Word;
  • a place of worship where believers have a heart open to the needs of lost souls at home and beyond;
  • brothers and sisters at RMCC who opened their hearts to minister to my family during my time of sorrow and need.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).”

What are you thankful for?

What about you? What are you thankful for? Take a moment to thank God right now.
