On Sunday, August 29, RMCC held a church-wide summer family festival event for families in the north parking lot. With carnival-like flags crisscrossing above the parking lot, music playing from speakers, and games and snacks in abundance, it was a memorable, fun-filled evening.
The weather was gorgeous, with plenty of sunshine and clear skies. And for those who found the heat too much, freezies were available along with other tasty treats.
Numerous booths were set up around the parking lot, and each was run by different members of the church. There were youth running booths, young adults, and others from the congregation who had offered to serve Sunday evening. What a blessing it was to see so many different age groups serving and helping create a wonderful evening! Inside one of the bays was a younger age-themed set-up, with many fun games. Not to mention the re-creation of the tomb, where candles illuminated the grave clothes folded neatly aside. It was interactive and absolutely inspiring!
A few booths were responsible for giving out Bible cards, and each represented a Bible character and how God used them to be a hero in their time. Once several cards were collected, the kids were able to take them to Pastor Hugh to get their name put into a draw for a prize. And there were some Bible heroes in attendance as well, wandering around and interacting with kids and sharing who they were; from Queen Esther to David to Noah and Moses, and a few others! It was neat to see them share with the kids how God used them in their lifetimes to bring honour and glory to our Savior.
All in all, the evening was a success, and an effort to show the kids of RMCC that they belong.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped to create such an amazing evening for so many families!
