We love our kids! At Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel we want to provide the ministries and fellowship our children need to grow in their relationship with God. We also find great joy providing parents with the resources and opportunities to encourage their children’s walk with our Lord.
Kids Ministry Contact
Bolt Vacation Bible School – July 13 – 15, 2020
We are thrilled we can offer a 3-day “backyard” VBS this year. The VBS experience has been made user friendly which any family can easily do it at home. BOLT incorporates live-action fun and interactivity. During BOLT, a video will prompt kids to play fun games which illustrates what it means to listen to, focus on, and follow Jesus. Each game has been chosen very strategically to help the kids go deeper in their relationship with Jesus.
Please contact Lana Morrow to register your children to attend a group at a home near you, or sign up to host a group at your own home.
RMCC’s Kids Clubs meet on Sunday evening from September to June and are for kids Age 4 to Grade 6. We have a group teaching with all ages and then split into several groups of multi-age groups to do projects and more focused learning.
RMCC’s Noah’s Nursery is a co-op nursery for children ages 6-24 months. Children are cared for by their parents and a number of volunteers on a rotational basis. If you decide to make RMCC your church home, you will be asked to share in this ministry. If you would like more detailed information about nursery policies, schedules, etc, please drop by the nursery and pick up on of our parent information handouts or contact Maureen Johnston our Nursery Director. After 24 months children will move up to Little Sprouts in September or March.
If you are interested in serving in Kids Ministry we have many different opportunities in which you can plug in. Areas in which you can serve in kids ministry include the following – hall parents for Sunday morning, Kids Church teachers for Sunday morning, adult and youth assistants for our younger classes of Little Sprouts, Pre- kindergarten and Kindergarten classes, and Sunday evening game and craft helpers. For special events such as Fall Fest, Christmas, and Day camp we have several areas where we need people to serve. Please contact Lana for more information.
We hope you will bring your family and friends to our event on Sunday, October 25, 2020.
Dress up in your favourite costume. There will be a prize for our best Bible-themed costume. Grab supper for your family – hotdogs, chips and a drink can be purchased for $2.00 and will be served from 5:30 – 6:00 pm. Please bring a box of peanut free candies to share. Kids grade 6 or younger will receive a bag of candy to take home at the end of the night.
Parents, we invite you along with your children to participate in our Bible Memory and Reading Challenge – TRAC (Trained, Ready and Committed.). Our goal is to lay a solid foundation of scripture and encourage children in their walk with Christ. Kids have from September to May to memorize selected key Bible passages and/or work on the Bible reading program located in the same booklet. On Sunday morning they can say these verses to hall parents after services who are located beside the kids store in the kid’s area. TRAC booklets can be picked up in classrooms at kids Church on Sunday morning or from hall parents in the kids area. Kid’s can earn Bronze, Silver or Gold medals that will be presented to kids during the adult service in June each year.
RMCC’s Kids Church meets on Sunday mornings during the 9 and 11 am services and is for Kids Age 4 through to Grade 6. Kids can be dropped off into classrooms at 8:50 and 10:50 on Sunday mornings in various rooms located throughout the church. Grade 4 and 5 meet in the trailer off the south entrance to the church and the Grade 6 class meets in the Kid’s Ministry Office. Each class allows kids to be taught at a level of their own understanding. Kids are placed in classes according to age and grade. Graduation to the next class happens in September of each year. This is to allow children to form lasting friendships with others of their ages and with the teachers that serve in these classes.
RMCC’s Little Sprouts is for children aged 2 and 3 years old. During each class we have a Bible teaching, play time, crafts, and snack time. Kids move into Little Sprouts from Noah Nursery after they have turned two in the months of September or March. Little Sprouts kids move up to Pre Kindergarten class after they have turned four in the months of September.
