Proverbs 28

Verse 26, Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom in safe. Make no mistake about it, I am a fool if I trust in my own heart, my own feelings, for God says my heart is desperately wicked, and I can’t even know how wicked it is. I must trust in God’s Word, and thus, if what I am doing goes against God’s Word, I don’t care how one feels, dismiss it, get rid of it, flee from it! Jeremiah has this to say of what I am to glory in and it is not in me but it is in the Lord. In Jeremiah 9:23-24 I am told, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising loving-kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,’ says the LORD.”
