Verse 1, Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what they day will bring. I think if I have this perspective I will worry less. If I truly understand and believe that all my days are numbered by God what would I have to worry about? Nothing! James reminds me, “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit’; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.’” James 4:13-15. Now in knowing that God is in control of my days, that He has numbered my days, I can live this life to the fullest in serving Him. In Psalm 90:12 I am told, “So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.” I need to grow in the grace and knowledge of my Lord and Savior. May I not put off till tomorrow what I can do today because tomorrow may never come!
