Verse 33, Fear of the LORD teaches wisdom; humility precedes honor. I first must come to God; establish a relationship with Christ, and to do that I must humble myself. A proud person doesn’t see a need for God; a humble person can’t see any hope for their condition without Him. It is when I humble myself before Him that He will lift me up far higher than I could ever do on our own. As James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” I need to learn that lesson!
