This blog is a tribute to those from RMCC that went as a construction team to build a house and an extension on an existing home in Iquitos Peru
Why a tribute? Because though these team members were open to God’s leading, they really did not know what to expect. As one group member remarked,” I prepared myself but really did not know what I was getting into…” And yet, in all ways, this team proved themselves as servants of their God.
What was some of the things they got “themselves into”?
Crowded metros in the world’s largest city, an encounter with a pickpocket, overnight on a plane, overnight on the floor of an airport, sleep depravity, ‘Navy Seal’ training, noisy streets, noisy hotels, noisy busses, lots of chicken, lots of rice, lots of Kamu Kamu, 33 degree weather with 90 percent humidity, sweat, more sweat, too much sweat, showers heads that dripped water, mixing cement, hard digging, brick laying, great worship, families that are easy to love, laughs, teasing, loving each other, incredible support in prayer from RMCC, and an experience not soon forgotten.
So- to this team we say thank you for your service and the cry of your heart…
“When can we go back to Peru?”
God Bless
Your RMCC Family
