Sunday, November 3, 2019 is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church when we will join together with believers throughout the world to pray for our brothers and sisters who are suffering persecution. The Voice of the Martyrs has produced a short video that shares the true story of Brother Han who was assassinated by North Korean agents in China because of his gospel work among North Koreans. The video is presented from the perspective of a man named Sang-chul who came to believe in Jesus through Brother Han and who has carried on his work in North Korea. Hebrews 13:3 tells us that we are to ‘remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.’ May the Lord stir us all up to the love and good work of bearing the burdens of our brothers and sisters together as a global church this upcoming Sunday but also every day, and may we always pray in the powerful Name of the One who suffered for us all, in Jesus’ Holy Name.
