“How true that when we’re sinking in life, God often answers our prayers through other people.” Lorraine V. Murray
The day-to-days of managing a household and a newborn are increasingly challenging for my daughter Andraya due to her health issues. A few months ago, we went to the front for prayer after another excellent discourse from the Book of John on a Sunday morning at RMCC and we explained to the Pastor why our daughter was in need of help.
As a result of that prayer time, the Lord worked through the women’s ministry of RMCC by providing a connection to Joan Petersen and her team of ladies. Meals kept landing on our daughter’s doorstep. Then visits from some loving ladies who gave my daughter physical and emotional support. The gift of food was very welcome, but the gift of time was an even greater offering.
The hospitality ministry has been such a reward to us. Even though they don’t know Andraya very well, the ladies continue to lovingly make meals around her dietary restrictions, or give of themselves to help with household chores or care for her newborn baby.
God has been so good to us. He heard our petitions and worked through the RMCC leadership and the hospitality ministry to give us the hands we need.
The sad fact remains that there are so many of us in need of some physical and/or emotional support. Joan would love to have you join the team to bring some joy and hope to others by sharing your talents and/or time.
God bless the RMCC hospitality ministry, for which we are very grateful.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us (1 John 5:14, NIV).”

The hospitality ministry at RMCC is an active, thriving ministry because of many faithful servants who share the love of Christ in meaningful and practical ways – primarily by lovingly preparing meals for our church family. When someone is going through health challenges, or when a new little one has just been welcomed into the family, connection can be difficult. Through the gift of meals, the hospitality ministry reminds these loved ones that our church family cares for them.
Needs Within Our Fellowship
The reality is there are many needs within our fellowship including:
• companionship and prayer
• light housekeeping
• handyman services
• yard work
• cleaning
• plumbing
• gardening
• grocery pickup
• errands
The possibilities are truly endless!

To help volunteers minister in these areas and others, we’re creating a database that will enable us to match the skills and interests of our volunteers with needs and opportunities to serve.
If you’d like to help with any acts of service, please email Joan Petersen and let her know what skills or gifts you’re interested in offering, as well as the frequency or amount of time you’re willing to give. You can reach Joan at: joan@calvarychapel.ca.
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality (Romans 12:12-13, NIV).”
