God My Strength

The faithfulness of God demonstrated through years of service by our seasoned saints in Kids Church makes Him worthy of our thanks and praise. Amen?

RMCC is blessed to have many Kids Church teachers who have been serving in this ministry for a long time sharing their talents and gifts with their students as well as their love for Jesus and a contagious passion for God’s Word. For the last decade, Lesley Lewis has been serving on the frontlines as a Kids Church servant at RMCC.

Lesley writes:

A friend once told me that God has given me permission to remain young, despite my years. God allows me to take all that I’ve learned in my life and teach creatively and with sincere joy. His Word comes alive for the kids with creative lessons using many objects, singing, and praying. My ridiculous collection of toys, ornaments, and notes helps me to bring the Bible stories to life. What a joy to bring a child to Christ, to encourage them with kind words and prayer.

One day a young man (about Grade 6) popped in at the beginning of a class, stood there smiling, and said he came to say hi and ask me how I’m doing. It brings tears to my eyes to see that God has used me over the years to bless the little ones, and now the teens.  He has even blessed me with some junior teen helpers; they can be so helpful. Precious prayers have gone up for myself and others, and God listens.

Adults, if you’re praying about joining the team, be willing to be like Joshua who relied on God for courage and strength. Class-time energy definitely comes from Him and He guides me through the lessons. As God gives His energy and ideas to assist us with this ministry, I continue to ‘stand amazed in His presence.’ I remain willing to bless and be blessed!
