Was Jesus an actual historical person?
Every year there is an ongoing debate in both the secular community and religious circles regarding the historicity of Jesus. I enjoy following these debates because the eventual outcome is so fascinating. In 2008 a book was published titled “The Myth of Nazareth: The invented town of Jesus” which seeks to prove that the town of Nazareth during Jesus’ time never existed and, therefore, how could He?
The book uses a combination of archaeological arguments, scientific arguments, and criticisms of current evidence to make a compelling case that appears to be well thought out until you hear the counter-argument, which uses better archaeological and scientific evidence and is my favourite part of this story.
