A Vision Unfolding

When I first became involved with RMCC’s website several years ago, Pastor Quinn Davis (who is now in heaven) would often explain the vision by pointing us to Acts 1:8: “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria and to the end of the earth.”

He would then draw concentric circles on a whiteboard, with RMCC at the centre, and state: “This is the mandate of our website. If we aren’t achieving this, we are missing the mark.” From the very beginning, our website was never intended for just our fellowship, but it was also meant to be a tool to reach our surrounding communities and people around the world.

Taking the Next Step

The journey to further the reach and improve the effectiveness of our website began on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 when the local design firm Tiller Digital was engaged in the project.

I was tasked with the job of researching other sites and immediately learned that while none were perfect all had strengths and features we would do well to emulate. I did a lot of dreaming and imagining and tried to capture the best aspects of many websites and integrate them into the plan for our own site.

Once Pastor Glen and Pastor Dan approved the conceptual proposals, the Tiller team began making the dream a reality. Over the last two years, the conceptual plan has gone through many iterations, and I am delighted to report that the result is far better than what any of us initially envisioned.

An Intuitive Design

We believe the new design will change how people engage our website. Instead of going to the website for a single piece of information, you will now want to grab a cuppa coffee and just sit and scroll through the beautiful pages which have seamlessly married an information portal with the family photo album. The design is meant to intuitively draw the reader effortlessly through the page content.

User Friendly Features

Our Events page has undergone a complete renovation. It is much more visual, providing the option of viewing RMCC events on a traditional calendar and as a graphic grid. You can search by date, Ministry Event type or by Events requiring registration. This is meant to be a very user-friendly platform.

The content from our old Watch + Listen page is still readily available, however it has been reorganized into an easier to navigate format. More than a year of Livestream church services and studies are now available, as well as over 30 years of audio messages including Stay In The Word (SITW) radio content by Pastor Glen and others. You could literally camp out in this section for YEARS!

One of the new website’s crowning jewels is our dramatically improved blog section. The content is dynamic and the search capability is meant to provide easy access to a large variety of edifying posts by title, author, topic and series. There are already more than 100 blog articles to enjoy with more added each week. Most of these posts are written by members of our church family!

You’ll also find a simple, yet effective Salvation Page where you can confidently direct friends, family or colleagues. It features a clear gospel message and an easy to follow description of first steps for new believers. There is even a quick link to email an RMCC pastor for more information.

Every page features a prayer button which means prayer support is only one click away at all times.

Finally, those who are new to RMCC should check out our About section to learn about the Calvary Chapel Distinctives, understand our philosophy of ministry and access helpful links to the broader Calvary Chapel movement and family of churches.

Make Us Your Home Page

We’ve never forgotten Pastor Quinn‘s mandate and with that in mind we want RMCC to be your home no matter where you live. Family is central to all we do at RMCC and we want to facilitate the deepening of relationship of true believers with Jesus Christ. Our prayer is that the website and the weekly Calvary Conversations (update) will work hand in glove to keep you informed invested and growing in Christ.

So, brothers and sisters, I invite you to take a few minutes to grab a coffee or tea and explore our re-imagined website. I hope that this website helps you get and stay connected to everything happening at Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel and, by the grace of God, may it always be a tool in furthering the great commission.
